This doll of Matsuo Basho is known as the masterpiece among all the first Yozan’s works.
The first Yozan was known as a poet, inheriting Shofu Ise style which was the main stream of Basho’s Haiku, which helped him to obtain deep knowledge of Basho. This doll has the facial expression that is ‘about to speak to you” throughout the ages.
